The Hague Center for Global Innovation and Emergence

We are

The Hague Center focuses on international societal challenges whose complexity requires collaboration between multiple stakeholders. We provide insight into the current condition, and co-design and facilitate transition processes to better futures. We believe that with resolve, imagination and creative endeavour we can co-enable a great social transformation which will have lasting benefit for present and future generations. The Hague Center was founded as an initiative of the Center for Human Emergence in the summer of 2008.

Meshworks

The Hague Center exists to help align necessary resources for the current human and planetary transition. This transition is, in its essence, about moving from separation and polarisation, towards coherence and complementarity. This same transition is playing itself out across all sectors – ecology, economy, and governance, to name a few key ones.

In order to support humanity’s efforts to engage in this transition as effectively as possible, the Hague Center offers knowledge and practice in the how of major transitions. We believe that nearly all the content solutions that we need to make the transition already exist. Our challenge lies now in the process of getting appropriate solutions implemented as rapidly and effectively as possible.

Principles

These are some core principles we have discovered as being important guidelines for our work:

  • Everything we need already exists – we connect it up
  • We act beyond individual and organizational self-interest, aligned behind a shared commitment of global transition to better futures
  • Humanity knows how to navigate this transition – we make that knowing explicit and act on it
  • We align inner realities of mindset and culture with outer realities of behavior and organization
  • We are rigorous in ensuring that appropriate knowledge gets to the people who need it
  • We find what is working, amplify its contribution and accelerate its implementation
  • We acknowledge that no one owns any of the solutions we need and that it is imperative to honor people’s contributions appropriately
  • Humanity is native to this planet and we choose to act as such
  • We learn to see and design from Nature’s craft and elegance
