European Bureau of Library ( Eblida )

Information and Documentation Associations

We are an independent umbrella association of library, information, documentation and archive associations and institutions in Europe.

Subjects on which EBLIDA concentrates are European information society issues, including copyright & licensing, culture & education. We promote unhindered access to information in the digital age and the role of archives and libraries in achieving this goal.

Activities

Lobbying for European libraries is one of the main goals of EBLIDA and is performed at various levels.

Establishing trust through the quality of our actions, representing the interests of European libraries and utilizing our networks effectively are the qualities that define our work.

Advocacy and Lobbying for libraries in Europe is the overall activity of EBLIDA.

To help Libraries argue for access for all to the benefits of the information society in all formats EBLIDA is working on establishing an online Knowledge and Information Centre (KIC).
